Article about a new report from the American Institutes for Research that attempts to estimate the cost to taxpayers of college students who drop-out in their first year. The report uses IPEDS retention data, which only includes first-time full-time freshmen who return the next fall to the next school. Clifford Adelman criticized the report's methodology.
